As the Government promises 100% Gigabit capability by 2025, Infinitel is playing a key role in this, working with our customers and partners to identify the right locations to build Faster Britain networks across the UK. A Faster Britain-enabled area will provide full fibre and access to ultrafast connectivity, supporting VoIP, cloud-based applications and other technologies.
Faster Britain is continuing the roll-out of its networks across the North West region and has announced ten new locations, giving a further 10,000 businesses access to Gigabit capable connectivity.
Full fibre networks across Lincoln, Chorley and Stockport have now gone live with customers already being installed. While businesses in Accrington and Blackburn, Birmingham, Newark on Trent, and Burton upon Trent will soon benefit following completion which is expected this month.
These areas are part of Faster Britain’s multi-million-pound rollout across the UK. Faster Britain has been installing its Gigabit-capable infrastructure at pace and is on track to pass more than 180 thousand business premises by the end of the year, having substantially increased its footprint across the North West, Midlands, and London.
Faster Britain is also leading on the delivery of 212km of full fibre, known as LCR Connect, across the Liverpool Region Combined Authority. Working with construction partner NGE, it recently announced that the build is now underway with several large sections due to go live early next year.
Faster Britain’s reuse approach to building its networks minimises the impact on local communities, and also means we install on-net orders much faster than our competitors, committing to a 30 working day pledge for on-net installs*
